It's Official! Nikon Will Come Out With New Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras

It may have taken them a while but it's already set in stone. Nikon is officially coming out with a full-frame, Nikon FX-format, mirrorless camera. Tongues may be wagging at the moment as all Nikon aficionados have been waiting for this for quite some time now.

Here's what we know so far about the new full-frame, Nikon FX-format, mirrorless camera:

A result of Nikon’s advanced optical and manufacturing capabilities

According to Nikon, "the mirrorless camera and NIKKOR lenses that are in development have enabled the pursuit of a new dimension in optical performance, with the adoption of a new mount. The mirrorless camera is the result of Nikon’s advanced optical and manufacturing capabilities gained through over a century of heritage, as well as superior image processing technology."

There may be two cameras up for release

Sony has been the king of mirrorless cameras as of recent years. Nikon and Canon have been late to the game but with this announcement, Nikon promises to match (or even be better) what's in the market today. They further added that, "the expertise built up through the development of Nikon’s digital-SLR cameras has also critically contributed to this development."

Furthermore, there will probably be two camera models up for release. According to Nikon Rumors, one is of a higher end model with 48-megapixels and a budget version at 25-megapixels.

The official announcement is on the 23rd of August

We got a few weeks left until the official announcement of the models, specs and pricing on the 23rd of August. It will be held in Tokyo, the home base of Nikon. It is expected to release the mirrorless cameras as early as fall. So mark your calendars now as we know for sure we'll be streaming or awaiting the official announcement as well. The Coolpix P1000 is perfect for super-telephoto photography - think wildlife and astrophotography! It has streamlined operability and high resolution quality that is guaranteed to impress you. We set out on a mission to make sure that you know every nitty gritty detail of this zoom master that is the P 1000.
The P1000 comes equipped with a 125x optical zoom lens that can cover an incredible range of focal length. Its lens boasts of the world's highest zoom ratio at 24-3000mm equivalence. This doubles up to 6000mm if you use the Double Fine Zoom feature. If you want to push it further and it is inevitable that you want to go for 12000mm, you can use the camera's 4x digital zoom. You probably stopped to think about how far that is from where you're sitting or standing at the moment. If your forte is nature photography, you can capture photos of your subjects from a great distance - think birds perched high on trees or lions in the savanna. You can get so close without getting so personal with astounding clarity. We don't want to disturb relaxed lions, do we?

Just like its predecessor, the P900, it carries the same 16-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch sensor with an ISO range of 100-6400. A plus for the P1000 is that you can get the most out of your extremely zoomed images with RAW image capture. It also shoots at up to 7 fps (but only for 7 photos) with a fully articulating non-touch LCD screen and a 2.36M-dot OLED viewfinder. To make sure that you make the most out of shooting, the P1000 has added dedicated moon and bird positions on the mode dial.
The P1000 also has video recording capabilities with 4K/UHD videos at 30p or 25p as well as 1080p from 60 fps down to 25 fps with a manual exposure control and an external microphone input. Should you want to share your images right away or simply want to control it via your smartphone, it's packed with WiFi and Bluetooth using the new ML-L7 Bluetooth remote or the MC-DC2 wired shutter release. The camera weighs 1.4 kg. Maybe not as light as most digital cameras today but with a promise as a zoom master, we'll take nothing less.
We know this 125X Optical Mega Ultra Zoom Nikon Camera will be a big hit for many photo enthusiiast (including myself...) however, based on the interest for the P900, we understand it could be of appealing to goverment agencies such as law enforecement (Police), SES, Park Rangers, Surf life saving clubs, rescuers due it's 3000mm zoom capabilities. So no matter what you're photographic requirements are, we can definitley cater for you. Recently, Tamron have announced that a firmware update for the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036) for Sony E-mount, full-frame mirrorless cameras, is now available. The Ver 2.0 firmware update is available through Sony E-mount camera bodies.
What did the Ver 2.0 firmware update improve on this time?
In this update, improvements were made on issues in video shooting mode.

1. Autofocusing operation and loss of focus and;
2. Flicker on peripheral parts of the image when zooming

Fujifilm X-T2 Firmware Ver.4.10
The firmware update Ver.4.01 from Ver.4.10 incorporates the following issues:

A highlight of this firmware update is the addtion of focus bracketing. This update, according to Fujifilm, "will nable the photographer to shoot focus distance bracketing up to 999 frames. When the photographer begins shooting, the focal location is shifted with each activation of the shutter by the step of focus shift set from 1 to 10."
Additional features include:

• Compatible with the newly developed cinema lens FUJINON MKX18-55mmT2.9 lens and FUJINON MKX50-135mmT2.9 lens
• Enlarged and customizable indicators or information
• Enhanced Phase Detection AF during movie recording
