Mavic Pro 2: The Rumours and News

There have been rumours about what Chinese tech company, DJI, would be releasing in the latter part of 2018. No confirmation has been made so far. However, everyone's taking really good guesses and taking hints from what Chinese media are dropping. One DJI release that people have been putting their fingers on is a possibility of a DJI Mavic Pro 2 release.

Here's what we know so far:

It may have interchangeable lenses or two separate models

There may be a chance for DJI to release two models: a zoom and pro. With the zoom model, it can shoot images and videos with a 24-48mm lens called the Dolly Zoom. The Pro model comes with a much larger sensor than its predecessor. This may mean that you might be choosing one over the other and depending on your needs.

It may have a Swedish touch and a larger censor

DJI has acquired Hasselblad sometime in 2016 and as a distinct feature for the Pro model, they have advertised it as a Hasselblad camera. Additionally, there might be Infrared 3D sensing and a larger 1 to 1.7-inch CMOS censor.

It may have a 4820mAh lithium-ion battery capacity and 15.2 V power with a 32-minute flight time

The thing about this tidbit is that for the rumoured DJI Mavic Pro 2, it might not be compatible with older battery models. You'll probably have to buy or resell your older batteries should you choose to upgrade if this were true. However, with the new battery for this rumoured release, the flight time is at an estimated 32 minutes and because it is a lithium-ion battery, it helps the drone's machine to be capable of shooting in weathers of up to -40 degrees Celsius.

It may have brushless motors for quieter propellers

You'll know a drone is nearby by just the sound of its propellers. The DJI Mavic Pro 2 is predicted to be 15% times quieter than previous models.

It may be priced at USD $1299 or higher.

The DJI Mavic Pro 2 is rumoured to shoot 12-megapixel photos, film videos at 4k 60fps with 100mbps video bitrate with improved low light photography capability. It will also run at an average of 45mph while in operation. The entire model is expected to have a price tag of USD $1299 or higher.

So far, we're all still anticipating DJI to announce and confirm our hunches for quite some time. Going by the rumours, it looks like this will be a big deal with drone enthusiasts - especially with having a drone with interchangeable lenses! Fujifilm has come out with a new compact camera that, in the words of Fujifilm, packs a punch! The new XF10 is a lightweight camera that's designed to shoot sharp and colour accurate photos even in dark or low-light situations.

Looking for a camera to suit your lifestyle needs can be quite a task. There are so many models, specs and reviews to look out for. For a beginner photographer, the vlogger and someone who wants to document their day-to-day activities, a compact camera is a perfect companion for this.

The Fujifilm XF10, to be released this August 2018, is a pocket-size camera designed for social media enthusiast and beginner photographers. It comes with a 24.2 megapixel ASC-C CMOS sensor with a Fujinon 18.5mm f/2.8 fixed lens, high ISO sensitivity range and 4K and full HD video recording capabilities.

The XF10 is designed with a fixed lens with a bright aperture of f/2.8. This ensures that you take superior photos with sharp and with colour accurate detail thanks to Fujifilms's proprietary colour reproduction technology. The fixed lens combined with the XF10's high ISO sensitivities of up to 12800 (and 51200 when it is extended) is perfectly capable of shooting in low-light conditions without compromising photo quality. The 18.5mm fixed lens eatures the "Digital Teleconverter" function means the camera is capable of taking photos with equivalent focal lengths of 35mm & 50mm in 35mm format. This ensures you that every image you take is sharp from the center to the edges.

The lightness and its big censor isn't just the plus factor that makes the XF10 a reliable camera. The XF10 is designed with a Super Intelligent Flash. It lets you automatically adjust the light output according to the scene. This means that you no longer have to worry about your photos looking artificial and cast with hard shadows.

The back of the camera features a 3-inch, 1.04-million-dot touchscreen LCD and an AF joystick on the back. The XF10 uses directional swipes on the rear touchscreen instead of the usual four-way controller. A function that you can use with this is switching to Square Mode so you can directly take a snap those Instagram worthy shots. To automatically share your photos online, the XF10 features Bluetooth connectivity you can pair with the Fujifilm Camera Remote App.

Do note though that this isn't a direct upgrade of the X70 as some of the beloved features from the 2016 release is missing the tilting screen, flash hot shoe, aperture ring and focus mode switch from the front plate. With the XF10, Fujifilm pushes us to come back and see the perks of using a digital camera.

The Fujifilm XF10 comes out on August 2018 and is priced at $799. It comes in two colours: Black and Champagne Gold.
